US Shipping Resumed

USA Flag House

Updated February 28, 2026

We have resumed shipping to the United States effective February 1, 2026. Due to changes in U.S. import regulations that came into effect on August 29, 2025, the following additional terms and conditions now apply to all orders shipped to the U.S.:

  1. All delivery date commitments for U.S. orders are suspended. While most shipments arrive within approximately 3–5 business days, U.S. Customs may hold packages for additional inspection, which can result in longer delivery times. Al-Karam Sweets has no control over U.S. customs clearance timelines. As such, we will not refund or cancel any orders once they have shipped if there is a delay in delivery.
  2. Due to the possibility of delays during U.S. Customs clearance, we strongly recommend that U.S. customers order products with a longer shelf life, such as Halwas and Pateesas. If you’re unsure which items would be best for shipping to the U.S., please reach out to us — we’re happy to help.
  3. All U.S. shipments will include a $20 CAD / $15 USD tariff and brokerage surcharge, reflecting fees charged by shipping carriers. This amount will be included in the shipping cost at checkout.
  4. To help facilitate customs clearance and reduce delivery delays, U.S. customers are encouraged to provide a Social Security Number (SSN), as requested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Providing an SSN is voluntary, but orders that include an SSN are typically cleared more quickly. Customers with U.S. shipping addresses will be contacted separately to request this information. For more details, please refer to  this U.S. Customs and Border Protection guidance .
  5. UPS Emails: You may receive emails from UPS requesting additional documentation related to your order. Please note that we are also receiving these notifications and are responding to UPS directly. No action is required from you. If you are ever unsure about an email you’ve received, please feel free to forward it to us for review.
  6. UPS Tracking: Once your order has shipped, please refer to the UPS website for the most up-to-date tracking information. However, please note that UPS is currently experiencing issues with tracking accuracy. In some cases, their website may indicate that your order will be delivered today or tomorrow, even though it has not yet been released by U.S. Customs. For the most accurate status, please look for the “On the Way – Departed from Facility” scan. Once this update appears, the estimated delivery date will refresh and reflect a more accurate delivery timeframe.
